I bought the fruit fly kit, now what?

· Remove the excelsior from the EMPTY containers and place in a clean plastic bag.

· Follow directions on the fruit fly mix label to make new cultures.

· Make small balls of excelsior and place on top of the set mix before putting  new flies into the container.

· Add your flies

· Larvae should appear within 7 days at an optimal temperature of 78^o. If you keep your home cooler it WILL take longer for the larvae and eggs to mature.

Cultures of Live Flightless Fruit Flies can be found at "most" Petco stores nationwide. All other products (fruit fly kit, springtails, springtail food, fruit fly food and sinking feeder pellets) can be found at www.petco.com.
